The Activity Programs

The Adult Day Health Care Activity Program is conducted by an Activity Coordinator trained to provide activities for individuals with cognitive and physical impairments. A variety of techniques are used, including arts and crafts, pet therapy, intergenerational interaction, sports, games, dance and movement, drama, music, and field trips to maintain the physical, mental, and emotional well-being of the participant members.

Activities are selected to help reduce depression, stress, and anxiety; recover/maintain basic motor functioning and reasoning abilities; build confidence; and socialize effectively in order to promote greater independence, and prevent further disability. Special leisure activities are structured to improve and maintain the participant member's general health and well-being.

Selected activities based on the abilities and interests of the participant members attending the center are offered by the Activity Coordinator together with a variety of ideas to ensure a balance between exercise, rest, mental stimulation, creativity, and fun.
