Q. Who comes to the Cambridge House?

A. The typical client is an older adult who can no longer manage at home, but does not require the complex, 24 hour care of traditional long-term care facilities such as a nursing home.

Q. Is Cambridge House covered by Medicare?

A. Medicare does not cover Adult Day Care specifically, but will continue to pay the direct medical coverage of Clients, such as doctor's visits, qualifying hospital stays and therapies.

Q. How is the bill paid?

A. Clients or families generally pay the cost of Adult Day Care from their own financial resources. Some types of health insurance or long-term care insurance may reimburse for all or a portion of the assisted living cost. The Administrator will be happy to review costs and offer assistance to ensure that all financial avenues are researched for each resident.

Q. How is the cost determined?

A. The cost of Adult Day Care is based on the amount of time and the types of services each resident requires. Before a client is accepted into the Cambridge House, an assessment of needs is completed and the specific cost is shared with the resident and their family members.

Q. What is the length of commitment?

A. There is no long-term commitment. All rent is on a month-to-month basis. A 30 day notice is required before clients leave, unless there is a specific change in the client’s health care status that requires a more intense medical regiment.

Q. Are Clients allowed to bring pets?

A. Because we value the time-tested connection people have with their pets, we provide Pet Therapy. We want you to smile, laugh, and feel good! However, we are not equipped at this time to provide daily care for your pet.

Q. May I have friends come and visit?

A. Clients' friends and family are always welcome. If staying for a meal, a reservation is required and there is a nominal charge. Clients are also encouraged to have celebrations or meetings in one of the many common areas. Contact the Administrator or Community Relations Director for more information.

Q. Do you accept Medicaid?

A. Clients or families generally pay the cost of assisted living from their own financial resources. Some types of health insurance or long-term care insurance may reimburse for all or a portion of the assisted living cost. Clients must qualify financially and physically to be eligible.
